Overview of PTFE High-Temperature Gaskets

Teflon Bonded
Products

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a highly resilient fluoropolymer known for its exceptional chemical resistance, making it ideal for use in aggressive chemical environments. PTFE is inert and unaffected by most acids, alkalis, and solvents. However, on its own, PTFE is not an effective sealing material due to its low resistance to compression and tendency to creep under pressure. To address these challenges, we incorporate an elastomeric rubber core, which energizes the seal and enhances its ability to resist compression.

This innovative composite of PTFE and rubber combines the extreme chemical resistance of PTFE with the sealing effectiveness of elastomers, providing a reliable solution for various applications. The selection of rubber is tailored to the specific temperature range of the service conditions, ensuring optimal performance in demanding environments.

Advantages of PTFE Rubber Composite Seals

Teflon Bonded Products

PTFE rubber composite seals offer several advantages over traditional PTFE alternatives, including an extended component lifespan, reduced maintenance requirements, and the ability to operate across a greater temperature range. These seals are versatile enough to be used in nearly all chemical applications, making them suitable for a wide range of industries.

One of the key applications for PTFE rubber composite gaskets is in the food processing industry, where they facilitate the safe processing of different food products without the risk of cross-contamination.
