Cutless Bearings

Cutless Bearings

Overview of
Cutless Bearings

Cutless bearings are water-lubricated rubber bearings specifically designed to support the propeller end of a shaft in marine applications. They consist of a cylindrical sleeve made from naval brass, which fits snugly inside the stern tube or shaft strut. This design ensures optimal alignment and stability during operation.

The bearing’s surface is crafted from longitudinally ribbed nitrile rubber. The grooves between the ribs allow seawater to flow in, providing both lubrication and cooling to the bearing surfaces. This unique feature enhances performance and extends the lifespan of the bearing in challenging marine environments.

Manufacturing Standards

Cutless Bearings

At TechnoXperts, we manufacture Cutless bearings that conform to the stringent standards of MIL-B-17901B (SH) Class III. This certification guarantees that our bearings meet high-quality specifications for durability and performance. Our manufacturing processes are designed to ensure precision and consistency, providing reliable products for marine applications. Our Cutless bearings are engineered for tight-fitting applications, ensuring that both the shaft and the bearing sleeve align without excessive force. This careful design minimizes wear and enhances the overall efficiency of marine propulsion systems. We can mold gaskets, touch pads, or any other custom conductive component according to your specifications using a variety of conductive elastomers. Furthermore, TechnoXperts is equipped to meet all material requirements outlined in MIL-DTL-83528F, ensuring compliance with all specified parameters.
